Job Summary

This role will provide leadership and management oversight for Site Civil Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering services supporting Transmission projects and facilities. The position is accountable for planning, organizing, and directing engineering teams to deliver safe, consistent, and technically sound civil site and geotechnical solutions in accordance with best practices and applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
The role serves as the functional manager and technical authority for site civil and geotechnical engineering, guiding complex project delivery, establishing consistent design approaches and standards, and ensuring effective integration across disciplines. The position maintains strong collaboration with Energy Delivery leadership, Station and Transmission Line Engineering, Transmission Field Services, Environmental Services, and project teams to support reliable project execution and risk management.

Job Description

What You'll Do:

Civil Engineering Management Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee civil engineers and designers delivering site development for substations, transmission facilities, and related infrastructure.
  • Set technical direction and review civil designs—including grading, access, drainage, and stormwater—to ensure quality, constructability, and compliance.
  • Ensure civil scopes, schedules, and resources are aligned with project objectives and cross‑discipline requirements.
  • Provide senior technical review of civil deliverables, permitting strategies, and construction support activities.
  • Coordinate civil engineering efforts across electrical, structural, environmental, and surveying teams.

Geotechnical Engineering Management Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and technical leadership for geotechnical staff and consultants supporting project development.
  • Review and approve geotechnical investigation scopes, reports, and foundation recommendations.
  • Ensure subsurface risks and geologic hazards are appropriately evaluated and communicated to project teams.
  • Oversee integration of geotechnical recommendations into civil, structural, and foundation design.
  • Provide senior-level guidance on geotechnical issues during design and construction.

What We're Looking For:

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.

Work Experience Requirements:

Minimum of ten (10) years of post‑Bachelor’s experience in Civil Engineering and/or Geotechnical Engineering. 

Demonstrated experience with geohazard evaluations, ground improvements, shallow and deep foundation design, site grading, drainage, and stormwater controls.

Required License(s)/Certification(s):

Professional Engineer (PE) License required.

$136,539.00 - $177,503.00
